Lawn 2. Game 1.
Game started at 9:50, while I wasn't looking!
Stephen Forster B & K
Aaron Westerby R & Y
G1T1: B to E boundary
G1T2: R to duffer tice position
G1T3: K missed B from C3 to C4.
G1T4: Y rushed duffer tice to C4 for a cannon and break.
G1T4:... Y ended at 4-B, with horizontal spread, B at peg.
G1T5: K lifted (to B-baulk?) and narrowly missed R on the inside.
G1T6: Aaron starting delayed TP.
G1T6: ... first peel done.
G1T6: ... and completed with straight double. Westerby +26tp.
NZ 1 AUS 0
Game 2.
Stephen Forster B & K
Aaron Westerby R & Y
G2T1: R to Supershot position
G2T2: B to C2.
G2T3: Y at B misses.
G2T4: B hits K (its was K, not B, that went to C2 in T2). Runs H1, but wedges in H2. Runs OK in replay after hoop reset.
G2T4: ... gets to 4-B with leave R near W boundary, Y on back of H1, B & K on E boundary. Tony Hall (refereeing) checks H3 as a precaution.
G2T5: Y hits K in long lift for break.
G2T5: ... pops K through H1 ...
G2T5: ... gets to 4-B, leaves B on back of H1 K SE of H2.
G2T6: B hits R and lays up near C2. Y at H3, R at H4.
G2T7: Y at R misses.
G2T8: K does all the peels on partner, but B misses the in pegout. K is pegged out to leave a 3-ball ending.
G2T9: R hits for a 3-ball break from H1. Now at 2-B.
G2T10: R gets to peg, leaving his balls in C3 and B obscured from us, presumably on S boundary.
G2T11: Adjourn for lunch, during which the manager clears the lawn and checks the hoops! Fortunately the players agree the position when it is reinstated.
G2T11: B misses the open ball.
G2T12: Y has rushed K to 4-B, with R nearby. Approaching from ~2yds. Runs hoop to N boundary.
G2T11: CORRECTION. B went to boundary, rather than shooting.
G2T12: ... but Y got going anyway. The NZ captain pegs out to win +1.
NZ 2 AUS 0
NZ 10 Aus 6. One more win required for NZ.
