Events

1. Main Event

The World Championship will commence with block play and progress to single life knockout. Subject to contingencies such as weather, the knockout will be a minimum of Bo3, with Bo5 at as early a stage as possible.

2. The Plate

The Plate event is open to those players who do not qualify for the main event KO stage. Single game block play, the winner of each block progressing to Bo3 KO. Ties in blocks will be resoleved by play-offs if time allows, otherwise by whom beat whom, failing which by net points (clauses 4.1 - 4.3  of WCF Sports Regulations Appendix 5, as invoked by Appendix 4 of the WCF Event Regulations.

3. The Bowl

The Bowl event is open to first round losers in the main event KO stage. Bo3 KO throughout.

4. The Shield

The Shield event is open to all competitors who have been knocked out of the other events by the time of the quarter-finals. The format will be a single-game knockout for up to 16 players, with a best-of-three final.

5. Qualifying Competition

A three day WCF qualifying competition will be held during the week immediately preceding the Championship itself to afford appropriately ranked players who have been unable to secure a place through their national association or a WCF wild card a chance to qualify for the World Championship itself. It will be open to anyone within the domain of the WCF. The format will be decided according to the number of entries received.
