Transport between the host clubs

Public transport in the London area is good, as has been demonstrated during the Olympic games in 2012.   The 265 bus, which links Hurlingham, Roehampton and Surbiton, has a programmed journey time of 45 -50 minutes, depending on the time of day, and the route is classified as high frequency.  The underground/railway journey via Wimbledon is more expensive and the timing is about the same, once account is taken of the walk to the club from Surbiton Station.

Volunteer drivers will provide a service from Woking station to the club because there is no suitable public transport for that part of the journey.   The train journey between Surbiton and Woking takes 18 minutes.

We would recommend to all visitors that they acquire an "oyster card".  You load them with money and then get reduced cost travel on buses, underground train, trams, the light railway and the traditional railway. Oyster cards are only valid in the greater London area so you will have to pay separately for the journey from Surbiton to Woking.  Please see also the excellent Transport for London website, which is especially good for journey planning, including details of any planned engineering work.

There is a fast and frequent mainline train service from Surbiton to central London, operated by South West Trains.
